An oasis away from the city.
Situated an easy 2 to 2.5 hours drive from Sydney, Currarong is one of the South Coast's best kept secrets. It has escaped the rigours of development that some areas have experienced and nestles between Jervis Bay and the sparkling Pacific Ocean.
The sleepy rhythms of this tiny fishing village of Currarong are a proven antidote for city stress. A day spent contemplating the ever changing seascape, strolling along the foreshore for a dip at the rock-pool, exploring the many coastal trails, quietly kayaking around the bay, watching whales breaching and dolphins at play or simply napping on the verandah, then feasting on the catch of the day at the local fish cafe is just the ticket for your relaxing holiday.

Point Perpendicular Lighthouse
Drive through natural scrub and beautiful spring wildflowers to Point Perpendicular Lighthouse, and the spectacular escarpment at Jervis Bay. There is no access to the inside of the lighthouse, but the view from the grounds of the lighthouse alone, makes this drive worthwhile.
The light station was a major coastal light in a network of navigational aids operated and maintained by the Australian Maritime Safety Authority. It has now been replaced by a new lighthouse, but the building remains and is of historic significance.
The gravel road to the lighthouse may deteriorate during bad weather and at times the road is closed because of Naval gunnery training exercises.

Honeysuckle Beach
Honeysuckle Beach walking track is a great short hike in the southern end of Murramarang National Park, just north of Batemans Bay. It’s an ideal walk for people wanting to take in the awe inspiring views of the south coast while avoiding the crowds.
Leading through wind-sculpted spotted gums to the lookout, gaze across to the picturesque islands. Ideal for birdwatching, the white-breasted sea eagles are known to scour the nearby ocean for fish. Arriving at black-pebbled Honeysuckle, keep an eye out for gannets, shearwaters and petrels out to sea, or the threatened sooty oystercatcher foraging on the rocks.
Cool off with a swim in the crystal clear waves and roll out the blanket for a picnic on the sand. If you want to try your hand at fishing, you might catch whiting, tailor or snapper (this is part of a marine park, so please check restrictions).

So relaxing.
"This is our third visit to Sandcastle, but our first in winter. It’s equally as beautiful in the different season. The house and location are so relaxing it will be sad to leave again. This time we went for a swim at Honeymoon Bay, only to be welcomed back to shore by a pair of kangaroos. We’ll see you again soon. Cheers"
